A few poems
God has a sense of humor, you can tell by the fact that he created “January”… congratulations to us all for making it through his sick little joke! Now that that’s done I can dedicate my time to moving into my new apartment, procuring furniture for said apartment, thinking about intricate networks of staggeringly wealthy pedophiles, my Blanchot reading group, and finishing LOST. Islands have infiltrated my thoughts and writing, here are a couple of rough poems I wrote over the weekend:
Untitled
Trying to abstract myself
From each trace of sex
OUT, DAMN SPOT!
Alone with a camera again
An enthralling performance
Once we die you’ll see it
The island where I lived will reveal itself
A light so enchanting it corrupts
All the goodness in the world surrounds me
I’m sorting through nuts and bolts
Building my Trojan horse that’ll balk the evil fortress
Giving it the tits and ass of a teenaged girl
And promise me this
It’ll turn to ash and you’ll not mourn
You’ll not hesitate
Coastline Paradox
Simplicity’s only
what I afford
the other
mine own world
the perimeter of an island
rocky and endless
not not differential
a brass sculpture of a urinal
or a continuous urn
maybe
You
a cloud that resembles a happy dog
I’d like to be a dog
I’d like to be something else
oh dear
I am
something else
but not a dog
a woman pouring water
into an infinite cup
you too cannot be stopped
I see it now
the dog whining
picking its paws
off the snowbank
the world not yet
big enough
to contain my idea of it
please allow me
I’ll carry any creature
stalking through the ice
when it’s done
with me
I’ll live on land
if I have to
